Planning your stay in Cefalù

Palermo Falcone-Borsellino airport is roughly ninety minutes from Cefalù by car. Direct trains run from Palermo Centrale to Cefalù station in about an hour; from the airport, take the shuttle bus or Trinacria Express to Palermo Centrale and change there. We can also arrange a private transfer on request – get in touch.

May to mid-June and September to mid-October offer warm weather, quieter streets, and comfortable sea temperatures. July and August are peak season - livelier, hotter, and busier. Winter is mild by northern European standards and ideal for hiking the Madonie without the crowds.

The old town is entirely walkable – the Cathedral, the Lungomare, and most restaurants are within ten minutes on foot from our Cefalù properties. For the Kalura cove (twenty minutes east) or the Madonie villages, a car or our complimentary e-bikes are the best options.

Absolutely. The Lavender Townhouse sleeps four to six across two doubles and has a secure entrance off a quiet lane. The Mandarin Tree (coming soon) includes a private pool, family garden, and apartment layouts that work well for groups with children of all ages.

Cefalù’s old town is a ZTL (zona a traffico limitato), so cars cannot enter. The closest public car park is at Piazza Cristoforo Colombo, a five-minute walk from The Lavender Townhouse — expect to pay around €10–15 per day in summer. Free street parking is available on the eastern edge of town, roughly ten minutes on foot. The Mandarin Tree (coming soon) will have on-site parking.

Yes, every property has high-speed fibre WiFi. Signal reaches all rooms and terraces, and speeds are more than adequate for video calls and remote work.

Some of our properties accept small dogs on request, subject to a one-off cleaning supplement. Availability varies by property and season, so please mention your pet when you enquire and we will confirm which options are open.

Cefalù has a public hospital, Ospedale Civico, on Via A. Moro, roughly ten minutes by car from the old town. Several pharmacies operate in the centre — Farmacia Ferrara on Corso Ruggero is the closest to most of our properties. For emergencies, dial 118 (the Italian equivalent of 999/911).

Craig and Rhys are native English speakers, fluent in Polish, and conversational in Italian. Our local team in Cefalù speak Italian and English fluently. Most tourist-facing businesses in town — restaurants, shops, the train station — have at least some English, though a few words of Italian always go down well.

Conad City on Via Roma is a five-minute walk from our old-town properties and stocks everything you need for a self-catered stay. For bigger shops, Lidl and Eurospin are on the outskirts, reachable by car in five minutes. Cefalù's old town is hilly with narrow cobbled streets and stairways, and most of our current properties are spread across multiple levels. We want to be upfront about this. The Mandarin Tree (coming soon) will include ground-floor units with step-free access.
